State and District-Level Farmers’ Conference Organized to Promote Self-Reliance in Edible Oils
Mohla, July 11, 2026: Under the National Mission on Edible Oils–Oilseeds (NMEO-OS), the Agriculture Department organized a State and District-Level Farmers’ Conference and Farmers’ Fair at the district headquarters in Mohla. The objective of the event was to increase oilseed production, achieve self-reliance in edible oils, and enhance farmers’ income.
Chief Guest and Member of Parliament Shri Santosh Pandey urged farmers to cultivate more pulses and oilseed crops alongside paddy, adopt advanced agricultural practices, and promote traditional oil extraction methods. Progressive farmers were felicitated during the event, and improved quality seeds were distributed.
Agricultural experts provided guidance on the scientific cultivation of oilseed crops such as mustard, soybean, and groundnut, along with pest management, soil health, the Oil Mill Subsidy Scheme, and modern farming technologies. The programme was attended by public representatives, Agriculture Department officials, and a large number of farmers.
